Issues after Windows update

Generally the DinoCapture 2.0 software for Dino-Lite is compatible with Windows 10. However, there are some known issues after upgrading to Windows 10 depending on the hardware system. In some cases, the computer itself might have a driver issue during the upgrade to Windows 10. In particular, the display card is sometimes not supported or the PC might become slow after the upgrade. There has also been a rare case where the computer might not run after the upgrade.

Note: If you have an older Dino-Lite model from the “Plus” or “Pro” series (3-digit model numbers) including 211, 311, 313, 411, 413, 423. Please see this related solution: How To: Use older Dino-Lites with Windows 8 and 10

If these problems occur after upgrading to Windows 10, try the following solutions below:

  1. Uninstall and re-install the latest version of the DinoCapture 2.0 software. Please note that Windows 10 has a smart screen function so you need to be careful downloading software from the internet. You can download the newest software version release for free from our website here:
  2. Run the DinoCapture 2.0 program in compatibility mode for Windows 7 by following the steps below:
    • Right-click on the DinoCapture 2.0 icon and select “Properties”
    • Click on the “Compatibility” tab
    • Under the “Compatibility mode” section, check the box for “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
    • Select Windows 7 from the pull down menu
    • Click Apply, then click OK.
  3. Run the Windows 10 Upgrade Utility Tool to ensure your system is fully compatible with Windows 10 and can make use of all of its features. Click here for the minimum Dino-Lite system requirements.
  4. If it is not an issue with the notebook, there has been known issues using older non-UVC Dino-Lite models with Windows 10. If you are using an older non-UVC model, please make sure you have the correct driver installed. Visit our downloads page and download any necessary separate drivers for your Dino-Lite model. To see which Dino-Lite model(s) you have, reference how to find the model number.
  5. If you are unable to install the driver for your non-UVC model, you might need to disable the driver signature enforcement in Windows 10. Click here for step-by-step instructions on how to disable the driver signature enforcement.
  6. Worst case scenario, users can revert to Windows 7 by performing a system recovery.
